April 22, 2010 |  HAVANA TIMES,  — Cuban President Raul Castro returned home at midday on Wednesday after attending a summit of the Boliviarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA) in Caracas, Venezuela.

“Important issues were discussed and the corresponding agreements adopted,” said Castro, reported Granma newspaper.  These included the creation of a new joint venture for oil and gas prospecting company in northern Venezuela.  Expenses and profits will be shared by Venezuela’s PDVSA and Cuba’s CUPET firms.

Meanwhile, Cuban VP Esteban Lazo arrived in Cochabamba, Bolivia on Wednesday to attend the World Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth hosted by Bolivian President Evo Morales.
